COUNTRY SINGER CLEARS UP TIMELINE OF WELCOMING TWINS WITH 'FRIEND' DURING SPLIT FROM WIFE
Country singer Jimmie Allen has shared more details about his family set up after welcoming twins with another woman while his wife was pregnant with their third child.
Jimmie and his wife Alexis filed for divorce in April 2023, on the same day they announced her third pregnancy, after three years of marriage but reconciled in October. They're parents to daughters Naomi, three, and Zara, two, and son Cohen, six months.
While Alexis was pregnant with Cohen, Jimmie, who is also dad to an eight-year-old son Aadyn from a previous relationship, became a father to twins Aria and Amari with another woman called Danielle.
He's now spoken about the twins' birth, saying in an interview shared on YouTube that their mum is a long-time 'friend' of his.
'At the time that she got pregnant with the twins, I wasn’t with Lexi, and [Danielle] wasn’t with her husband,' he said. 'But it’s interesting just watching how life happens whether you plan it or whether you’re ready for it or not.
'So Danielle was pregnant first, because me and Lexi weren’t together when Danielle got pregnant. Twins were born first. Then me and Lexi decided we wanted to try to work on [our relationship.'
Jimmie first shared photos of all six of his children to Instagram Stories in March, saying: 'I have 6 kids. I love each one of them. I refuse to let anyone make me feel ashamed of any of my children. The only opinion I care about is theirs.'
Jimmie and Alexis reconciled after Cohen's birth with a rep telling PEOPLE at the time that their split was 'never fully seen through legally’ and that they’d decided to ‘work on things together'.
In May 2023, a month after both Jimmie and Alexis filed for divorce, the singer shared a statement on social media saying he was sorry 'for humiliating her [Alexis] with my affair.
'I'm embarrassed that my choices have brought shame on her. That's something that she did not deserve at all,' he said.
It's understood that Jimmie's twins were born in July 2023, two months before his and his wife Alexis' son Cohen was born in September.
