FULL LETTER BRIAN LAUNDRIE'S MOTHER WROTE BEFORE GABBY PETITO'S DEATH

  • The Disappearance Of Gabby Petito will air on ITVX on Thursday May 9

A new show titled The Disappearance Of Gabby Petito will air on ITVX on Thursday May 9, and explore the investigation connected to her disappearance.

A vlogger who was killed at the age of 22 by her fiance, Brian Laundrie, Gabby was one of the most recognisable names across the United States after her death.

The new documentary series follows the twists and turns of the investigation, telling the story of a mysterious killing.

Interviews with Gabby's parents reveal the torment of being a family at the heart of such a case, while there are also contributions from internet sleuths who dedicated their online lives to solving her disappearance.

In May 2023, CNN obtained a letter written by Brian's mother, Roberta Laundrie, in which she wrote that she would help him 'dispose of a body' or 'bake a cake with a file in it' to help him in jail.

Roberta claimed the letter was written before her son's trip with Petito, and one of her attorneys released a statement saying it was 'in no way related to Gabby.

However, these claims have been disputed by Petito's family in response.

The envelope containing the letter said 'burn after reading' and was recovered from Brian Laundrie's backpack when his remains were found in October 2021.

The letter also contains quotes from the Romans passage of the Bible. 'Nothing can separate us; not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not threats, not even sin, not the thinkable or unthinkable can get between us,' it reads.

The full language of the letter was revealed nearly two years after the young couple set off on a cross-country trip that was extensively documented on social media.

Petito's remains were found at Wyoming's Bridger-Teton National Forest in September 2021 and her death was ruled a homicide by manual strangulation.

On October 20 2021, Brian Laundrie's remains were found and he was later concluded to have shot himself.

The FBI were subsequently able to find that he had written in a notebook he was responsible for the death of Ms Petito.

Full letter written by Brian Laundrie's mother before Gabby Petito's death

'I just want you to remember I will always Love you, and I know you will always Love me.

'You are my boy. Nothing can make me stop loving you.'

'Nothing will or could ever divide us: no matter what we do, or where we go or what we say -- we will always Love each other.'

'If you're in jail, I will bake a cake with a file in it. If you need to dispose of a body, I will bring show up with a shovel and garbage bags.'

'If you fly to the moon, I will be watching the skies for your re-entry. If you say you hate my guts, I'll get new guts.'

'Remember that love is a verb, not a noun. It's not a thing, it's not words, it is actions. Watch people's actions to know if they love you -- not their words.'

'Therefore I am certain that neither death nor Life, nor angels nor the ruling spirits, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers from above, nor powers from below, nothing in the entire created world can separate our love.'

'''Neither hostile powers nor messengers of heaven nor monarchs of earth. Nothing has the power to separate us... '' --Romans 8:38 (extended version!)'.

'(Nothing can separate us: 'not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not threats, not even sin, not the thinkable or unthinkable can get between us.) ~Not time. Not miles and miles and miles'.
